South Africans love Nelson Mandela
Former South African president Nelson Mandela was admitted to hospital earlier this week and the entire Rainbow Nation held its breath.
He has now been discharged from hospital but deep down, the feeling is that South Africa is not ready to one day lose Nelson Mandela forever. Nelson Mandela endured years of imprisonment and still led his country to freedom from apartheid, he established democracy and most importantly of all, gave the nation a constitution.
Although he has left the political stage long ago and enjoys his well-deserved retirement at the age of 93, he is a much adored figure in South Africa.
